How Artificial is Human Intelligence -- and Humanity? Consideration of AI Safety versus Safety from Human Artifice {PT2}

 Dangerous development of AI? Safety of AI? As implied above, it is appropriate to ask how "artificial" was the collective intelligence evident at the AI Safety Summit -- and how this might be best understood in the light of warnings immediately before the event (Sunak’s global AI safety summit risks achieving very little, warns tech boss, The Guardian, 20 October 2023; Editorial: Why the UK-led global AI summit is missing the point (Nature, 31 October 2023)). Following the questionable pattern of many international declarations of the past, attention will necessarily focus on the Bletchley Declaration signed at the AI Safety Summit: Alex McFarland: What is the Bletchley Declaration Signed by 28 Countries? (Unite.ai, 3 November 2023) Chris Stokel-Walker: UK AI summit: Countries agree declaration on frontier AI risks (New Scientist, 1 November 2023; UK AI summit: US-led AI pledge threatens to overshadow Bletchley Park, New Scientist, 2 November 2023) Matthew Sparkes: UK AI sum

PHYSICAL CONSTRAINTS ON UNIDENTIFIED AERIAL PHENOMENA

Draft version March 7, 2023 Typeset using LATEX default style in AASTeX631 PHYSICAL CONSTRAINTS ON UNIDENTIFIED AERIAL PHENOMENA Abraham (Avi) Loeb1 and Sean M. Kirkpatrick2 1Head of the Galileo Project, Astronomy Department, Harvard University 60 Garden Street, Cambridge, MA 02138, USA 2Director of All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office 1010 Defense Pentagon Washington DC 20301, USA ABSTRACT We derive physical constraints on interpretations of “highly maneuverable” Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) based on standard physics and known forms of matter and radiation. In particular, we show that the friction of UAP with the surrounding air or water is expected to generate a bright optical fireball, ionization shell and tail - implying radio signatures. The fireball luminosity scales with inferred distance to the 5th power. Radar cross-section scales similarly to meteor head echoes as the square of the effective radius of the sphere surrounding the object, while the radar cross-section of

Star Children

  Star Children I can believe anything, provided that it is quite incredible...Oscar Wilde Star children are children who have been sent here from all areas of the Universe to help the earth and the people on it. They possess psychic, spiritual, and other extra sensory abilities. These children will bring peace, topple corrupt systems, and shift dimensional consciousness in the years to come. They have come here on special assignment to assist in this rebirth into a higher dimensional earth. Star children are different, thank God. As of now, our Star children have been divided into three categories: Indigo, Crystal, and Rainbow. Star children have chosen specific parents who will help them develop their natural abilities. So if you are a parent of a child you know is different, your child probably chose you to help them help others in their spiritual path. How lucky you are to be the chosen parent of one of these incredibly gifted souls here to help this earth. The most wonderful aspec

Encountering Otherness as a Waveform In the light of a wave theory of being

  Encountering Otherness as a Waveform In the light of a wave theory of being Introduction Human civilization has a serious "otherness problem" -- as indicated by the media on a daily basis. The problem is evident in the relationships between the principles and the adherents of the  Abrahamic religions  in particular. It is also evident in the relations between science and alternative perspectives, between one political ideology and another, or between "development" and "environment". The challenge to any worldview now has potentially ever more dangerous implications ( Us and Them: Relating to Challenging Others , 2009;  Guidelines for Critical Dialogue between Worldviews , 2006). The argument for framing experience as a "waveform" is developed separately ( Being a Waveform of Potential as an Experiential Choice: emergent dynamic qualities of identity and integrity , 2013). This contrasted such an experiential framing with use of conventional cat
