The only thing I can think of would be excessive damping across the tuned circuit. I would check the Q value. To do this, use a high impedance feed from a low value capacitor or high value resistor or loose inductive coupling into your tuned circuit. Feed in a continuous sinewave (unmodulated) CW signal. Use a high impedance scope probe across the tuned circuit under test, say using a 10:1 probe. Find the peak response frequency of the tuned circuit under test, note this frequency
