Certain 'issues' have been bugging the hell out of me and only an illustration such as this helps calm me down.

To understand why you may need to know a thing of two about me.  To those who watch me already this might be nothing new to those who consider themselves 'mainstream' you will most likely choose not to understand.

I hate bigots, racists, double standards (especially when i find them in myself) and when people act like their own "negative stereotype"

to me antho and xeno characters do not represent the inferior beings that 'Mainstream' media always portrays them as.  They represent 'people who look different' and as i was raised not to be a bigot or a racist and to treat all people as equals with different skills and abilities.  so i do not like "avataring" or "true sighting" or other transformation stories used to side step the "we look different from each other so we cannot accept each other." to me that is the same as taking the classic "Guess who's coming to dinner" and taking the main character who is a Black man and at the end of the movie magically turning him into a white man so that the parents of the woman he loves have their own racist notions satisfied.

My Personal experience with EVERY mainstream art director (note that i am counting face to face and actual conversions, not simply 'no response submissions') or professional Mainstream artist has been met with extreme negativity when they find i draw anthros 'for myself' even when i do not have them in my portfolio.  in other words it does not matter how good, fast or eager to please the director i am, it only matters that my personal work is not 'kosher'

for the other end of the spectrum i have mercifully been "left alone" by most of those who choose to act like the "negative stereotype" of the Fandom, but i have deleted posts based off 'attacks' in the past and that 'double standard' still rankles me.  most other events i have only seen on the outskirts and so therefore can only consider them as supposition and opinion.

so you are probably wondering how this illustration is a 'pallet cleanser'  for all this angst?

simple.... it is the exact opposite to what is making me mad.

there, mindless rant over please continue with you lives

Hey, she's sentient, so it's not like it's bestiality. Also we are talking different worlds adaptations.

 hattonslayden

all startrek and star wars universe (the more non human they look the more undeveloped "monsters" the characters are portrayed as, generally)
Disney's gargoyles
hell boy movies (look at how most people treat hellboy)
deathstalker novels (a little 'niche' but Greene is still a successful writer)
MTG
warcraft
and that is just off the top of my head

Oh, you mean inferior by the story-makers, hattonslaydennot the characters and their setting?

hattonslayden Jul 23, 2017  Professional Digital Artist
yes.  mostly both but yes

Do you agree that the Avataring (changing human man with a nonhuman lover into an anthro or xeno or mutant to suit the female nonhuman's taste which is racism  like in Avatar by James Camerons ending as i think Cameron should have made him remain human by having the doctors give him cyborg parts even a special cybernetic filter for his lungs/stomach to digest/beathe the atmosphere and drink the water there as he can be half-cyborg and let his avatar just be destroyed so Neytiri would still accept him for it would be a moralistic ending but no it went to the cop-out transform ending), the basically are human aliens (the asari from Mass Effect) and the stupid double standard that only human women can be with nonhuman looking nonhumans  (that double standard according to Hatton is like a throwback to the days of when Slavery existed as someone who didn't look white like Arabs and negros were not considered human based on the color of their skin) needs to go?

Well since 2013 it finally is happening! i mean i'm sure mainstream animators/filmmakers/artists/show creators of animation seen Hatton's artworks and had enough of those things  like Avataring (Avatar by James Cameron is no longer releveant anymore), basically human female aliens and double standards of only human women can be with anthro/truly xeno people to finally make those human male X nonhuman female stuff mainstream. I mean Regular Show has Margot's parents (human male X anthro cardinal woman), Shay and Hunk on Voltron Defender on Netflix (Shay is a truly xeno looking alien lady who isn't a dumb lowest common denominator design like the Assari which the Asari are just blue skinned human babes  when we had enough of the Asari and she has a human lover named Hunk who loves her for who she is), Charolette and Kyle (human male X anthro deer woman who made 2 kids of their own and both are married) on Bojack Horseman, Warcraft the movie with that female ogre and a human lover etc. are finally doing it and now interspecies love is accepted in the mainstream mostly human male X anthro/Xeno female romance.

I mean Bojack Horseman, Regular Show and Voltron Defender are popular mainstream shows and they should inspire animators/show creators who aren't racist/sexists bigots that love is love between two consenting adults of different species/races without physically changing each other's species/race  and that the double standard is finally dying down. Even the Xcom Viper ladies are getting good responses from guys who want one as a waifu if the vipers existed, told you so you know and Hatton is very happy about it now with everything i mentioned even to him as i even showed him evidence with clips from those shows. Even Topcow comics when he went to the comic convention in NY like his artwork as they aren't racist/sexists and think his vision is unique and after years of hate/threats from mainstream companies over the years he is finally being accepted by Topcow he told me, that's wonderful isn't it? you know maybe for the upcoming animaniacs reboot, Minerva Mink can date a human guy.

And i think you should replace the word "true sighting" on edit and go for "Shreking" instead like the cop out ending to Shrek which was racist in a way

hattonslayden Jun 21, 2017  Professional Digital Artist
huh i had not thought that way ironically.  for me shrek was more about "perceptions of beauty" not race but you are right

CyrusGrissom Edited Jun 21, 2017
Perceptions of beauty is what the theme should had been about when Fiona could had turned back to her human self and be that way and she can still accept him for who he is and marry Shrek. But the movie did the reverse version of Avataring you know, the white woman becomes black theme. It should be just accept the person for who they are and not what they are thing than just going to the bigoted way.

Now Disney's Beauty and the Beast both 1991 and 2017 makes sense since Beast was a cursed human who needed to become human again if he can earn love from someone else to break the spell, but the 80s Ron Perlman version of the CBS show wasn't about that as Vincent was born from a cryptid tribe of cat people who are like live-action Thundercats. Catherine accepted him for who he was and not what he was, same for Vincent accepting her for who she is and both fell in love and produced a baby, but too bad they killed her off before she can have the baby which was a bad thing to do. The show didn't make him magically turn into a human because that would be stupid since Vincent was born a cat person from a race of cat people and it would had been bigoted like you said for a black man to become white to please racist parents but i'm glad they pulled off the relationship of her and him well. Same for Vastra and Jenny on Doctor Who whom didn't need any bigotry of turning Jenny Flint into a humanoid lizard person like her lover.

Everyone should learn that not to be deceived by appearances for beauty is from within like Beauty and the Beast's message is about.
And what do you mean "true sighting"? what does that mean?

what i thought "true sight" at the time was "making her look like a human woman in his mind"  now when i talked with Nebezial he explained that it was actually magically seeing her energy spots like magic pressure points and that he could use it to his "advantage"

Oh i see! but you think the prince in one of my fave fantasy books didn't need to do that "true sight" nonsense and accepts her for who she is? well my fanfiction alternate ending will prove that once she is changed into an anthro person than a full feral regular unicorn as he still loves her and she loves him.

This is one of the most beautiful artworks i've seen! your right about things Hattoslayden, we do need more interspecies romances of human males X nonhuman female beings in love. Have you seen Regular Show, Bojack Horseman, Superjail (the warden and a sexy blonde alligator woman in love as both produced kids) etc.?

it shows you that love isn't just the same race or species of being especially Bojack with ladies of various races/species to this couple yet my fave one is Kyle and Charolette, a human man married to a lovely anthro humanoid deer woman and both produced 2 kids, it's nice to see such inspiring couples that love isn't just by appearances or biology, glitz and glamour with all that superficial nonsense as they are all beings in that show and Kyle/Charolette (i tend to like the human male X nonhuman female person as it find it relatable to me in a way but i do like the Beauty and the Beast kind of romances too but i go for the human male X non-human female types like your artwork) love each other for who they are, not what they are.

I've always had a fascination with interspecies romance for 30 years since i was 5 years old when i saw Ralph Bakshi's Mighty Mouse The All New Adventures (remember that show on CBS?)'s  Littlest Tramp episode (which featured a human male marrying a sexy anthro sapient mouse woman and both kisses passionately at the end even hugged), Beauty and the Beast CBS TV Show with Ron Perlman/Linda Hamilton's Catherine and Vincent (I had a thing for Linda Hamilton back then and it has a monster man cryptid cat person with a human woman and the man-creature didn't need to be a cursed prince but was born from a tribe which is better), Animalympics's Kit and Rene on cable to all the way, Splash on TV, (human X mermaid)  to Star Trek The Next Generation which featured alien beings of all species/races in love with different ones even with human beings etc. all opened my mind that showed me in media like Sci-fi/fantasy and all that even in animation or movies that love is not by species nor race. Over the years seeing things like Who Framed Roger Rabbit on the big screen with Jessica/Roger, Alien Nation the series which had a human man/alien woman, Guardians of the Galaxy/X-Men comics and TAS which featured Hepzibah/Corsair, Sci-fi/fantasy books and so on proving love is love.

I mean you have plenty of interspecies romance  in media like Roger and Jessica Rabbit, Hepzibah/Corsair in Marvel comics/X-Men TAS (human space pirate dad of Cyclops with alien furry skunk cat-woman), Howard the Duck and Beverly Switzler in Marvel, Tankgirl and Booga in the film/comics of Tankgirl, Lilandra/Professor Xavier (alien bird woman and mutant male), Regular Show which has Eillen/Rigby (a mole person and a raccoon person) to Margot's parents (human male X anthro robin woman), Hana and the Wolf Man in Wolf Children, InuYasha and Kagome, Eliza and Goliath on Gargoyles, Jenny and Vastra on Doctor Who. Hellboy and Liz in the comics/movies, Star Wars/Trek alien races with different alien being races even with humans, Mass Effect which has alien races with different alien races even romancing to human beings, Madison and Alan in Splash, Minerva Mink and a human lover in a story series, Farscape alien beings with different races/species of alien Beings even to humans, Nick and Judy on Zootopia, Charlene and Vinnie on Biker Mice from Mars, Aragon and Arwen (human and elf) etc. and hell, i'm even reading a story series here on DA which has a human male X Minerva Mink in love which is nice.  I'm even writing interspecies romance stories as well.

I am very supportive of interspecies or rather inter-being couples/romance in fiction to  stories even comics/games/animation/sci-fi fantasy etc. but only if it involves a humanoid being, a sapient or sentient being, magical creature being (ala mermaid or gargoyle or vampire or elf etc.), alien being or mutant being which is ok because they can consent but never to a 4 legged regular feral non-evolved non-humanoid non-sapient animal creature like an ordinary feral animal like say an ordinary regular 4 legged Labordor retreiver and a human for example as that would be beastality since it's a thing that cannot think or consent or have feelings especially romanatic like a Being would and it isn't a Being who has same structures/body build/nor humanoid looking like any Being in general is. Afterall the word "people" just don't mean just human but Beings in general like from other worlds and stuff as it's alright to love a different Being in Sci-fi/fantasy, comics and all that. As i see in Sci-fi/fantasy or fiction in general  that inter-species or inter-Being love is an allegory for interracial or same-sex love in a way.

We need to know love is love in fiction as appearances aren't always the same.

My signature from one of my fave books/fantasy movies and animated movies sums it all up.

what i have found is the few times it IS human male anthro female, the anthro/xeno woman is almost always just a human with a very small amount of makeup.  but the inverse is usually more "expressive"

I know, we need to show men want love with anthros and all and some of those shows i mentioned are showing it nicely.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD2Czz…
Here is that 80s Ralph Bakshi Mighty Mouse episode Littlest Tramp which i mentioned where a human male marries a lovely anthro mouse woman, quite adorable scene.

And do you know what Prince Lir meant by his quote in the book/movie of The Last Unicorn when he found out about Lady Amalthea's identity? "Unicorn, mermaid, sorceress, gorgon, lamia, vampire, werewolf, elf, gargoyle, gorgon....no name you can give her would surprise OR frighten me, i love who i love" which is one of my most favorite quotes and sums things up nicely.

Speaking of that, i am writing human male X female anthro stories myself like for Batman TAS, Swat Kats, an upcoming one with Lola Bunny and a human male in love, Goldie Pheasant and a human male in love, Julie Bruin from Tiny Toons and a human man in love and so much more.
What Lir means by his quote is that  Love isn't about biology and glitz and glamour and other superficial nonsense It's about mutual care, respect, understanding, etc. what Lir also meant that he had fallen in love with her very being and it didn't matter what her physical appearance looked like as he loves her spirit and essence with innerbeauty. He loved her for who she was.  Also because of the utter devotion that it implies, he love Amalthea, the essence of her, and no.matter what she is or was it wouldn't or couldn't sway him from that affection. And it's also 100 percent true, if you love that person you love them despite their appearance.

Great beautiful meaning to a beautiful quote as Prince Lir is truly a fantastic character and knows love is deep inside and not the person on the outside.

Read the book by Peter S Beagle, check out the graphic novel version and rent the movie online at amazon prime or Vudu or see it on Netflix, it's a damned good fantasy story and the movie is a US/Japanese co production with Jeff Bridges and Christopher Lee.

Eehhhh maybe? not maybe, i think it's nice! it's just like love doesn't have to be the opposite sex or the same race as i see interspecies romance as allegories for same sex or interracial love.

I mean see Roger and Jessica Rabbit, Hana and Wolf Man in Wolf Children, Star Wars/Trek alien beings with different species/races of them even with humans,  Eliza and Goliath on Gargoyles, Cheetah X Batman on Justice League, Catherine/Vincent in Beauty and the Beast the series with Ron Perlman (remember that?), Vastra/Jenny on Doctor Who, Regular Show which has a mole person and a raccoon person in love plus a human man who married an anthro humanoid bird woman who are Margaret's parents, Bojack Horseman which has plenty of it like bojack and an owl humanoid anthro woman to a human male/anthro humanoid deer woman named Charolette in love who married and produced 2 kids, Mass Effect, Marvel's Howard the Duck/Beverly Switzler, Vinnie and Charlene on Biker Mice from Mars, Farscape, Babylon 5, Swamp Thing and Abigale Arcane,  Hepzibah/Corsair, Lilandra/Professor Xavier, Murray and Polly Pineblossom on  Ralph Bakshi's 1987-1988 Mighty Mouse New Adventures (human male and anthro lovely mouse woman who married on the show and kissed), InuYahsa/Kagome, Skyrim, Charolette/Mier Link in Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust and so much more proving love is love no matter what physical appearance or species you are nor to some race of beings. Hell, i'm even reading a Minerva Mink story series where she has an affair with a human man, both are consenting adults and sentient beings as Minerva can marry the guy in her universe and produce half-mink/half-human hybrid kids or if the kids end up being the same species/race as the mom.

It's like the message of Beauty and the Beast is that physical appearances don't mean squat, for innerbeauty is what you love. And it's just like in The Last Unicorn (ever seen that movie or read the book by Peter S Beagle) on Prince Lir when he found out the lovely Lady Amalthea's true identity, see my signature and tell me what he meant by his quote?

That's all fantasy, not reality.  There's a big difference. ;)

They're more for entertainment, or to tell a tale with a big message.

In a world filled with toons (Roger Rabbit, Jessica Rabbit, Minerva Mink, Mighty Mouse, etc), toons are essentially the same...species(?) though each appear different than the others.
They all come from the same ink pot, so to speak. ;)

Some cases of fictional human interspecies relationships, like Ron Perlman's Beast, or Star Trek, the other species seems to have a trace of human about them already, like humans and *insert random alien species here* diverged from the same ancestors.
Look at Spock from the original Star Trek. He's a half-breed Vulcan-Human. Humans and Vulcans in the Star Trek universe supposedly share ancestry.
In Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the Beast was a human under a curse, he changed back once Beauty learned to love him, and he learned to love her.
Ron Perlman's Beast was (presumably) some kind of experiment that was left to die, or he could've been an alien, or a cryptid race like Sasquatch, the series never really delved into his origins other than an assumed lie that was told by one of the villains.

So toons are the same race/species like Roger and Jessica are just living magical blobs of ink/paint in their universe/world as flesh and blood people in Roger Rabbit are called "humans" while in the universes of Gargoyles, Marvel, DC etc. that Howard The Duck is a interdimensional duck person with Hepzibah being an alien furry skunk cat beauty, Vinnie from Biker Mice from Mars is an alien rodent man, Lilandra is an alien bird woman etc. while Beverly Switzler (Howard the duck's girlfriend),  Hana in Wolf Children, Kagome in InuYasha, Charlene on Biker Mice from Mars,  Kyle on Bojack Horseman (husband of deer woman Charolette), Frank Smith in Regular Show (Margaret's dad),  Eliza. Corsair (Cyclop's dad who is a space pirate and Hepizah's lover) etc. are called  and classified humans in their worlds/universe right? big difference right and can bleed blood in their worlds? while Professor Xavier is a mutant and Cheetah on Justice League is a mutated human who looks like a cheetah (unlike Selina Kyle's Catwoman whom is just a human in a cat costume while Barbara Minerva is literally a cat woman) right? plus have you seen Doctor Who with Vastra and Jenny? alien lizard lesbian humanoid woman married to a woman as a same sex different species/race couple.

Heck, i'll do a story where Cheetah and Bruce Wayne fall in love as she turns good and is stuck like that because when Barbara Minerva tried to ask Dr. Emile Dorian for a cure to her condition, he does the opposite as he injects her with a formula that would never make her human again because she worked for him once before moving to his island as he got out of Arkham yet Bruce feels pity for Barbara Minerva aka Cheetah as she decides to do some good than bad as she learned not to rob because of what she is and decide to do good, then Bruce sees behind the skin and sees her innerbeauty as Bruce and Barbara fall in love, both become a duo and even have people understand that she not a monster or freak but just a mutated human who is misunderstood, they even get married and produce 2 adorable humanoid cheetah people kids.  Same thing for a Howard the Duck story where Howard marries his human sweetheart Beverly as Marvel characters even Hepzibah/Corsair to Lilandra/Xavier are at the wedding with Deadpool as priest then they become husband/wife as it's legal in the Marvel universe for people to romance mutants and alien beings even interdimensional beings plus she even conceives an adorable baby anthro duckling son.

I know they are all fictional of what i mentioned but i think interspecies love in fiction is quite nice i was saying. It's a staple in general Science Fiction and fantasy stories.

But do you know what Prince Lir meant by his quote "Unicorn, mermaid, sorceress, gargoyle, vampire, werewolf, elf, gorgon, genie...no name you can give her would surprise OR frighten me, i love whom i love" when he found out in the movie/book of The Last Unicorn (have you read that book or seen the 1982 Jeff Bridges starring animated movie) about the lovely Lady Amalthea's true identity? oh that's another one where i did a an alternate ending story where instead of Amalthea changing back to a regular full feral unicorn, she is changed into a humanoid anthro sapient unicorn person instead and Lir still loves her plus she has gained emotion even laughter to consent and both get married as he moves in to live with her in a cottage in her woods.

Excellent work

And your comments are very thought provoking.  I'm curious if the problem isn't so much bigotry as it is boundaries.  Let's face it, everyone has them, and we don't like it when other push them, and human beings fight harder when they're forced to adopt elements outside their comfort zones.

The trouble is how does one really define bigotry?  What if someone is just uncomfortable about certain things, but doesn't really hate anyone.  Why is it the first reaction we have to do in this case is to force "sensitivity" training on these people.  Isn't that a form of thought control?  I mean Tolerance is a 2-way street; you can't fight intolerance with intolerance, no more than you can fight hate with hate.

And besides we need different opinions so that we have something to meditate on.  If we as a society accept only one set of ideals and suppress all others - even for a good cause how is that not fascist?  Sometimes we need those different opinions to make right choices; sometimes a masculine approach is needed other times a feminine approach.  This is never an easy balance to achieve, because how can we be objective to the subjective, or the abstract?

To your credit, I've gotten a lot of red lights when it comes to my anthros too.  I wonder if it's their oligarchy elitist ideals, or the business man speaking.  Either way, they don't like it when I point out that anthropomorphism is far more popular and powerful than they think.  I mean Disney and Warner Bros. made their financial empires on anthros, and if you look at history, anthro imagery was so popular it was worshiped - like in Egypt.

Keep up the good work.

bigotry as defined by Random house Webster's college dictionary 2nd edition 1998:
" an extreme intolerance of a creed, belief that differs from ones own"  in my experience, mainstream to a tea.

do they red light your ideas because of their "oligarchy elitist ideals", yes because if it was just business a lot of bad mainstream type idea would not have been made.

and as for "tolerating the intolerant" well look at how well that has worked in the past.   the holocaust, 911, murder of Martian Luther king Jr.  the intolerant and the hateful have caused more genocide that those who want the reverse.  basically it is not an "if" they start killing it is a "when"

the only way to stop them is through the expression of ideas.  Martian Luther king Jr. had his fantastic speech on oratory skills,  i only have my stories and a much less lofty goal, to live my life utilizing my best skills without "mainstream" actively trying to destroy me, and those like me, just so they can feel superior like some high school bullies (who now if you watch the news, are killing their victims more and more)

thank you but i think you and i have seen a vastly different set of books games and movies.  or have different interpretations of the meaning behind the stories.

i do not count human female x anthro/xeno male relationships my any mainstream source as valid because as i have found, there is a very sinister subtext to their storytelling.  as the author is mostly male, he view his female character as inferior to himself because she has 'lowered' herself to become intimate with an inferior life-form.  all mainstream storytellers show that they believe every thing different to their own "tribe" is inferior and evil.  look at every alien in scifi. anything that is not just a human with bad makeup on is either evil, or inferior (all of mass effect).
if you look around this site you will find more evidence proving my point
www.deviantart.com/art/Rauptur… clearly breaking all the rules of DA but since it fits my explanation above the artist is praised for it by the community (male) at large.
also nebezial.deviantart.com/art/sd… he draws this and everyone likes it, i draw what i do and he calls it "fetish" giving no label to himself.

the second part i like to cal "Avaturding" basically taking a human male and xeno female and 'magically' transforming one into the other (just as in Avatar).  this is outright racism as if you tried telling that same story with black people and white people (does not matter which is which)  you'd cause an uproar.  mainstream people want their racist nature hidden in metaphor, not blatant.  again i will use :iconnebezial: as an example with his "true site" or "deep site" (whatever he decides to call it)

lastly there is the "punishment" mainstream story.  take Mirri for MTG.  the story tellers made her in love with Gerrard and so, punished her with torment and death (read the Mirri Wiki) because she does not look like a human with crappy makeup on (anime) she does not ever find happiness.  her crime is loving a human male (Gerrard) and thus the writers go off on tormenting her and killing he

hattonslayden Nov 8, 2013  Professional Digital Artist

because we are still a Male dominated society and there are three types of B and B stories

1st: human meets xeno, overcomes differences and gets together (rare and only seen with female human)
2nd: same as first but xeno turns into human (racist undertone)
3rd:  the one most common and accepted in all pop media (just go to any comic con) beast rapes and dominate human female,  she accepts the beast and thus the human male can justify to himself that the human woman is inferior and therefore he can do whatever he wants to her.

ADM

In coming from a matriotical society it would be different as to the female choosing their mate based upon their ablity to be her second skin and therefore lover and mate.

Let's just explore this further from the writer and science area if such relationships were created what would be the outcome? What would happen if human and animal DNA were 100% compatible? I mean human males can get female animals pregnant and male animals can get female humans pregnant.

Have you ever wonder what the offspring would look like?
    "What would happen"
I think Greek Mythology would happen. Half animal half human creatures... minotaurs, centaurs, harpy...etc.

Thank God it's not possible. It would be a disaster to the society as hybrids can't reproduce themselves (often) so these "side-species" would extinct quite fast. But while they are alive they would consume as much as the "base-species". It would be bad.

Of course if we could select the attributes to extract from a species and give it to another make them stronger, faster, better we could do extraordinary things. Like humans with perfect night vision, Lions with an intelligence of a human...etc... I have glasses so I would accept a little DNA manipulation to earn the vision of an eagle or the immune system of a crocodile.

    ReplyDelete
  2. 'm a biotechnologist so I think I can give you a realistic answer. I'll try to keep it simple. You would definitely not get greek mithology-like creatures. Experiments of hybridation show that non compatible species produce non-viable embryos with deformities. If the species are close enough they can even produce living offspring that die shortly after birth (this is the case of cats and dogs for example). So thinking of a complete mix of the two species is not really an option.
What could theoretically hapen, however, is that only a portion of the genes would be functional in the embryo while a big part of them are silenced. If the expressed genes result in a compatible phisiology, cell function and organ structure you could get any range of creatures with features of both species.
This would be extremelly difficult to happen in nature, but is technically achievable in the lab. You could even get fertile offspring that can reproduce with similar animals.
But, in any case, you would never get centaur-like animals, with a part of one species and another part of the other, they would fully mixed creatures with reasonable characteristics.
If you want to get exactly what you are asking, I mean, a population of different species that can all reproduce with each other and produce fertile offspring that can also reproduce with different species, there would be needed a sort of natural biological machinery (a set of proteins inside the cells) that strategically silence non compatible genes to produce only viable offspring. Our cells already do a lot of kind of similar complex stuff, so it could be possible.
