Are there any 9/11 conspiracies that have actual evidence?
I will assume by conspiracy the Bush administration was behind the attack.
For those that do not know it is a popular theory in the US that the Bush administration was behind the 9/11 attacks. They used them as justification to start the wars they wanted.
And on the surface the evidence is super compelling- that is until you really look into it. Let’s go through the big pieces of evidence 1 by 1 and debunk them.
#1: Jet fuel cannot melt steel beams
The theory is laid out pretty clearly in the meme. Jet fuel does not burn hot enough to melt steel so it couldn’t have been the cause of the collapse.
The big problem with this theory is that it was never claimed that jet fuel fires causing the beams to melt was to blame.
The Twin Towers were built with a few long building tall beams connected by multiple cross beams.
What happens when you heat steel to a lower temp than it’s melting temp? It turns red and weakens. Putting steel into a heat of 1500F is more than enough to cause structural weakness.
The beams then bend down under the pressure of the building.
With the beams bending downwards they pull the outer beams inward. You can see the towers bend under the pressure.
Eventually, they snap.. You can clearly see them snap outwards and then the collapse begins.
#2: The towers fell at free-fall
This one is easy to debunk.
9/11 truthers claim the towers fell at free-fall speeds. Freefall speed would be about 13 seconds given the math.
The first tower collapses in this video at 6:57. The collapse finishes around 7:17. That is 20 seconds roughly- not free-fall speed. The tower also collapses from the middle more than the top as that is where the tower was hit. Freefall speed from that height is more like 8–9 seconds.

It cuts away at 15 seconds. But you will notice after 14 seconds the tower is still half standing when the camera cuts away.
#3: What about WTC7?
WTC tower 7 was another smaller building that collapsed and it was not hit with a plane. To many this is clear evidence of a conspiracy because the only way for this random tower to collapse is intentional demolishment.

Typically another video is shown by truthers that only show the top part of the collapse.
Anyway, if no plane hit WTC 7 how did it collapse?
To put it simply debris from the twin towers caused rampant fires throughout WTC 7. The water supply for the fire suppression system was also damaged meaning the fires on the lower floors could not be put out.
Then a series of beams heated by the fire failed and floor 13 collapsed. This lead to a cascade that collapsed the entire lower building all at once. Upperparts of the building then began to fall and the collapse was complete.
This has been modeled out and explained by engineers. In terms of math, everything works out perfectly. Here is a video that goes into great detail for those that want to see all the smaller details I am too lazy to type.
#4: The Pentagon
This one hurts my head.
Truthers claim that the pentagon was hit by a missile. Their proof is that
- The plane couldn’t pull off a maneuver
- Video evidence was seized by the FBI and CIA
- There was no plane wreckage
There are problems with this theory though. First there are literally hundreds of witnesses who saw the plane hit the Pentagon. In response to this evidence, truthers claim that the missile was shaped like a plane. But why not just use a plane then? The plan is way too dumb.
Moreover, the video “seized” by the FBI was simply used to investigate. No cameras actually caught the plane hitting the target.
In terms of wreckage, there were tons of wreckage found. Seats, parts of the plane, engine parts- they were all there. Note that very little was found in terms of large pieces of wreckage in WTC rubble as well. When a plane hits a building at full speed very little is left intact.
The maneuver was totally possible. It required a steep descent and then leveling out. It can be pulled off and it was. Nothing here is really that wacky. The supposed impossible flight path truthers go on about is completely invented.
#5: Thermite was found in the rubble
No there wasn’t.
1 legit study was done on this. A lab sought out 13 different untouched samples from ground zero and they found no thermite.
There was 1 study that found thermite. The study claimed that there were small red pieces in the rubble and these red pieces were thermite. There are issues here though
- The study was not peer-reviewed. It was submitted to a “journal” that is considered a joke. Someone submitted a random study written by an AI that was just complete nonsense and random words and it was approved by the journal.
- The researcher is kinda crazy
- The researcher did not let anyone examine his samples to verify his findings
- He provides no evidence of his findings
- Other studies done on the red specs found that they were pain from the towers, which makes sense.
Now there are more pieces of “evidence” but they all go like this.
There is no concrete proof, or any proof, that the US government was behind this.
I mean ask yourself does it make sense? Let’s pretend the government wants to attack the US in order to get justification to start a new war. Why go through this plan? I mean really think about it- does it make sense?
Like what was the pitch from the CIA to Bush for this plan?
“Ok Boss here is the plan. We are going to Hijack 4 planes. 2 will be flown into the towers, 1 will be crashed into a field, and 1 will be rerouted to a secret airport where we will then kill the passengers. Then we will fly a missile disguised as an airplane into the pentagon in front of hundreds of witnesses. Before all this happens we will plant bombs in the towers while they are open. We will also collapse the small tower 7 because we want to destroy some paperwork in there”
This makes literally no sense. It is THE dumbest plan ever. Think about all the problems. What if people see the CIA planting bombs? What if one of the thousands of people involved confess? What if people can tell that a missile hit the pentagon. I mean if people see a missile hit the Pentagon it becomes clear who is involved.
Why not put a bomb in a van and blow it up in a few cities. That is more than enough to galvanize the American people.
Why this stupid overly complex nonsense plan?
Also we have proof- real proof that Bin Laden was behind this. He confessed to it, we know exactly who he sent to do it- we have traced their movements before the attack, we know where they trained to pilot, and we have wire transfers between the Bin Laden and the attackers.
