Solar Birth Totem:
- Birth totems are a collection of aspects, that are in place at the time of your birth. These aspects are related to animals, the weather, stones, plants, minierals and so on. Each aspect will have an impact or influence on you and your life. They can denote your strengths, or help you see your weaknesses.
- Just as there are varying forms of astrology, there are varying forms of Birth Totems or what some call Solar totems. Most people think of this in the same context as the common astrological modalities; the Zodiac and Chinese Astrology. But there are others through out the world as well.
- Many people confuse these totems with totems used in Native American culture because they often focus on just the animal aspect of the totem sign. They are similar, but they are not the same thing. And these totem theories do not come from Native American culture. Historically the concept of Birth Totems was utilized in pagan Europe. And they are based on regions, local clans and folklore. So depending on which region of Europe, or what clan you may be speaking of, you'll find varying differences of the Solar Birth Totems.
- Birth totems are similar to the common astrological modalities. But again they're not exactly the same. They share a few common aspects, such as when you were born. But the timing is not as important in this method as it is in Zodiac astrology. Here we don't care where the planets are lined up at the exact minute you were born.
- Like astrology, your birth totem can tell you many things about your personality, your attitudes, your abilities and your short comings. These totems are often referred to as Solar totems because they encompass many aspects of the "solar" system. From the seasonal relationships to the moon phases.
