TR-3A (Black Manta)
Rumored to have been in operation during the Gulf War, this Black Budget aircraft is one of many suspects in the sightings of large flying triangles in Belgium during 1991.
Also known as the "Bat", this aircraft is very similar in design to Northrop's Tactical High Altitude Penetrator (THAP), and its name is thought to mean "Tactical Reconnaissance 3A" (the U-2 being "Tactical Reconnaissance 1"). It also resembles the Teledyne-Ryan design in patent number 4,019,699, filed on July 21, 1975 and issued on April 26, 1977. [Tim Matthews, UFO Revelation.]
Below are three (3) images of assumed UFOs fitting [generally] the description of the TR-3A. When genuine secret aircraft are spotted and reported, they usually turn up in the annals of ufology. The picture in the middle [below] is the famous 35mm photo shot in Belgium in 1991, in the midst of a wave of "flying triangle" sightings.
