Possible 'Dogman' on the Virginia Peninsula Posted: 03 Oct 2016 12:28 PM PDT I recently received the following account: I'd like to know your opinion on something I saw in July of this year. I was driving home during early evening from Williamsburg, VA on US64 west towards Richmond. About a mile past the Rt607 overpass, I saw something ahead of me on the right. I best I can describe it is that it looked like a huge black dog standing on it back legs off the shoulder at the edge of the woods. I slowed up because the person in front of me was looking at it as well. There is no doubt that it was there. As I drove by it, the beast just disappeared. It was so quick, though I suppose it could have stepped back into the woods. I was in shock I believe. I flashed my headlights in order to draw attention to the driver (I believe it was a woman) to possibly pull over so I could ask her what she saw. She sped up and continued on her way. I know for a fact that others on the highway had seen it. It looked to be at least 7 ft tall with a huge head, like that of a German Shepard. All the hair was black. The body was tapered at the torso, like what you see in the werewolf movies (I don't believe in werewolves BTW). I didn't really notice much below the waist since much of it was hidden by tall weeds. Can we talk? Marv It took me a few days to get in touch with 'Marv' since he wasn't answering his telephone and I was leaving voice messages. He finally called me on Sunday night and asked what I thought this beast was. I explained the sightings in Pennsylvania and other details. Marv said that he had heard of Bigfoot activity on the peninsula before. He did add that he had contacted 2 other investigators online, though they didn't get back to him. He isn't from the area...and lives further west near Roanoke, VA. He also said that he attempted to get a photo of it while slowing down, but wasn't successful. He doubled back at the next turnoff and came back around...but he never caught another glimpse. He insisted that the head looked like a German Shepard, not a wolf...but the body resembled werewolves seen in modern horror films. The ears were long and stood straight up...the snout and face were streamlined. He didn't notice a tail. This description is not similar to others we have received in Pennsylvania, since most witnesses state that the creatures in their encounters are more wolf-like. This particular creature reminds me more of the 'dogman' seen in the upper midwest. Dave from central Iowa called in to tell of his alien encounter: “When I was a little kid there were these... I don't know if this was a dream or what but it was constant.. constantly happening to me. These creatures would come into my room and I would refer to them as babies. They were tiny little 3 foot tall creatures with heads that looked like pickaxes. Totally black colored... like night black. The thing that got to me was that some of them had paper sacks with large big black eyes. And like a few years ago I saw that book, the cover of a book by I think Whitley Streiber. (Art Bell says 'Communion' and then asks if they looked like the alien on the cover of the book). Vaguely, yes. I don't know if that's what it was but it scared the heck out of me. I don't know if that's what it was but these things would come into my room at night and surround me and they made this weird noise. It was kind of like a ... (makes a breath-through-teeth noise, the type of sound a person makes when they are seething with anger) but it was all out of synch. Like there was a lot of them doing it. It was kind of like a weird breathing through your teeth noise. Some of it sounded like it was coming out of an electronic box or something. It was really... I only told my parents and one friend about it. It was like when I was 2 or 3 years old. I can remember way back then it was it always at this one old house that we lived at. It's never happened after that. It was something else, I guess. (Bell asks if he thinks they did something to him) Gosh, I don't know other than the fact that it was too intense to have been a dream. I mean, maybe it was. I don't know, little kids have wild imaginations, (Bell asks if he told his parents.) I think they just shrugged it off as, you know, dumb little kid. Whatever. I used to wake up on the floor, under the bed. I don't remember getting there but heck if I know. Guess I'll never know what it was. After I read Streiber's books and stuff, I tried to think of any weird, you know, missing time type of thing or anything like that and I can't think of anything that's happened since then so it might have just been a type of dream thing or something. Who knows? I'm 23 right now. I got up to use the bathroom around 2 am. Something made me look at my window, being was hovering there outside, where no human could have been. Silver grey, large black orb eye. Communicated to me, (without speaking), that I should not fear him. I was not afraid, we stared at each other for about 1+2 minutes, no other contact was attempted. I felt calm but sure of what I saw. Left to the restroom, entity was gone when I came back. For 43 years I have never questioned what I saw. Always hoped to see something again, but never have. It’s certainly not humans—not even close. Nor is it a top predator like the grey wolf or lion, although those at least are #11 and #9 in the league table of murdery mammals. No, according to a study led by José María Gómez from the University of Granada, the top spot goes to… the meerkat. These endearing black-masked creatures might be famous for their cooperative ways, but they kill each other at a rate that makes man’s inhumanity to man look meek. Almost one in five meerkats, mostly youngsters, lose their lives at the paws and jaws of their peers. Gómez’s study is the first thorough survey of violence in the mammal world, collating data on more than a thousand species. It clearly shows that we humans are not alone in our capacity to kill each other. Our closest relatives, the chimpanzees, have been known to wage brutal war, but even apparently peaceful creatures take each other’s lives. When ranked according to their rates of lethal violence, ground squirrels, wild horses, gazelle, and deer all feature in the top 50. So do long-tailed chinchillas, which kill each other more frequently than tigers and bears do. Gómez’s team predicted that when our species arose, around 2 percent of us (1 in 50) would have been murdered by other people. First, he and his team compiled everything they could find on causes of death for various mammals, accumulating some 3,000 studies over two years. Their work revealed that lethal violence aimed at others from the same species is rare but widespread. It exists in almost 40 percent of the 1,024 mammal species that the team surveyed, and varies from group to group. Contrary to Watership Down, rabbits rarely kill each either. Neither do bats or whales. As you might expect, carnivores like lions, tigers, and bears, do so more frequently. But “it was striking that lethal violence wasn’t concentrated in those groups,” says Gómez. The primates—the order that includes us, apes, monkeys, and lemurs—seem to be especially violent. While just 0.3 percent of mammal deaths are caused by members of the same species, that rate rose to 2.3 percent in the common ancestor of primates, and dropped slightly to 1.8 percent in the ancestor of great apes. Rosales several years ago: Location: Rostov-on-Don, Russia Date: January 14 1978 Time: 06:00 a.m. Three 18-year old men, Mikhail Babkin, Nikolay Leontyev and Vitaliy Kravchenko were in a room at the local sports complex “Oktyabryonok”. They had been celebrating the passing of the old New Year with glasses of champagne and enjoying steam baths in the sauna and swimming pool, also eating mixed with some vodka. At 0600A the watchman proposed that the young men go home and accompanied to the rear exit of the building, through a long corridor with concrete walls without windows. The corridor was located in the basement area near the pool’s walls. They were walking along the corridor in the following order, the watchman walking ahead, followed by Leontyev, then Babkin followed by Kravchenko. The corridor was very narrow. Suddenly Mikhail seemed to trip, despite the narrow corridor and the obvious lack of reason. The smooth concrete floor had no potholes. However Babkin’s left leg had trip over some kind of “hole”. He screamed and Leontyev turned around in amazement. He could not believe his eyes as he saw Babkin’s shoulder penetrate into the concrete wall and in a moment Babkin’s entire body vanished into the wall. He disappeared, apparently dissolving into the wall (!). The stunned witnesses began examining the wall with their hands looking for any doors or crevasses but their hands only touched concrete. Mikhail later told his friends that he had suddenly entered a small and dark room. To his left he could see an object, which resembled a medical examination chair. Across from him he could see a slightly opened door. There was a narrow window on the right wall of the room. He could see tops of trees entirely covered in dense green leaves, they were moving about in a strong wind. Babkin was amazed, it was in the middle of winter, but outside this “window” it appeared to be summer and broad daylight. Also a few seconds ago he had been walking in an underground corridor and here he was looking at a view of a fourth story floor. Moving as if in a trance Babkin moved towards the slightly opened door and pushed it open. He then entered another room, also shrouded in gloom. There was a round platform on the ceiling that gave off a faint light and there were no windows in the room. A similar “medical chair” stood near the wall. He felt very lightheaded and moved about like a robot, he walked forward and opened another door stepping into the strangest room yet. It was absolutely dark, with some bright areas visible in the inky darkness. The lights seemed to hypnotically influence Babkin. He became numb unable to look away from the lights. Suddenly he noticed several black humanoid figures that appeared in front of him, faintly lit by the pulsating patches of light. Their heads appeared rectangular in shape. They were five of them and they stood unmoving in front of him. One of the humanoids, standing in the front was slightly hunched over and appeared to be working in some kind of device that gave off light. The device was not big, resembling a “corncob” with a pointy end, which was pointed directly at Babkin. The object emanated a very bright light but strangely it did not illuminate the surrounding area. Babkin then heard a male voice inside his head, the voice said, “This one?” Another voice, also inside Babkin’s head answered, “No not him”. The first voice then said immediately, “Memory erasure is necessary”. This phrase frightened Babkin terribly. He realized that with deafening clarity that it was his memory that was going to be erased. Horrified, Babkin seemed to snap out of his confused state and ran out the door and suddenly jumped back into the corridor of the sports complex, screaming inarticulate remarks. He heard a door closed behind him with a loud slam, when he turned around the door was gone. His friends had been searching for him for about an hour, running across the complex in complete despair.
